It invites the public to take part of the unique nature of the archipelago and experience contemporary art that has been created to interact with the environment.
The path is suitable for almost everyone. Families with small children will love it as cool art installations appear behind the trees and add interest to the winding forest path. It is perfect if you want to experience both nature and art combined. Kids will love the path as much as you as there are small surprises along the way and it is not too long for short legs. Stop at the smooth rock for a rest and perhaps picnic, enjoy the sound of birds and wind rustling the treetops.
The path is not suitable for prams but you can take them on the road and leave them at the start of the forest path off the road and can collect it on your return. Not suitable for wheelchairs.
The first part, 300m, is on a gravel path, then on a forest path over rocks and around trees. Some parts are steepish and the rocks are slippery when wet, be careful.

Getting there
The Barefoot Path is on Korpo in the village of Österretais, 2 km from the ferry when coming from Nagu or 4km from Galtby when coming from Houtskär. Turn to Österretaisvägen and park at Hotel Nestor, Österretaisvägen 45. You will find a map on the hotel’s wall. Pick a dandelion to feed to the hens you pass on the pretty village road.
