Lovely Forest tracks with nice navigation variety and a 'postcard' end section.

*Park at Clara Vale Nature Reserve just up the road from Clara hamlet - quaint church/cottage & bridge.
Walk starts uphill from parking and continues into lovely forest tracks. As map shows , there are many alternative walk options to suit.
*At the de-foresting the walk breaks out to open ground & goes uphill a 'wee' bit (which I reccommend -as there are good views for lunch from the cross level track !) . However you have an option to skip this part and simply stay on the track as map shows.
*After Ballylug Bridge, theres a turn in to the right to the Avonmore Way forest walk - this is the cutest/prettiest part of the walk . This in itself could be used as a shorter 'after-lunch there & back /kids walk .
The route brings you downhill to the back of the the church by the Avonmore River (passing a sign for Our Lady's Grotto - nice extra). Make sure to check out the idyllic lunch/photography spot by the arched bridge. There was an old John Hinde postcard based on this hamlet manys moons ago!
Your car is minutes uphill from here.
Wonderful colours in Autumn.
Boots not neccessary.
Approx 3+ hours, with lunch & lots of admiring on way!
