The route has no inclines and is entirely on asphalted farm tracks with a large number of benches along the way. The trail logo is a stylised wine barrel, which is always clearly visible on dark blue steel posts along the trail.

The route runs mainly on so-called farm tracks. These are used for agricultural purposes and are used by tractors and harvesters all year round. We would like to point out that the use of the paths is at your own risk and ask for mutual consideration in the interest of all. The farm tracks may be soiled by agricultural traffic.

After rainy days and especially in winter, the paths can be wet and slippery.

Turn-by-turn directions

At the Platz der 100 Weine next to the tourist information office, cross Weinstraße and follow Neugasse straight ahead until you reach "Am Kleisinger. Turn left there and go straight north towards Herxheim am Berg until you reach the "Schlittgraben". Before the ditch (signposted also towards Freinsheim), keep to the right and follow the path through the vineyards. You will pass a meadow. At the group of benches, keep to the right (not up the hill) and continue on the paved path towards the south. After about 300 m the path bends to the right, after another 100 m it bends to the left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road connecting Kallstadt and Freinsheim.Cross the road (note: no crossing aid) and continue to the Freinsheim - Ungstein district road. Turn right here and follow the cycle and hiking path parallel to the road. After approx. 300 m, turn right. After 400 m, the path bends to the right. After 100 m, keep left again and continue to the outskirts of Kallstadt, where you turn right at the Aussiedlerweingut Kronenberg and walk along the village to the road. Cross the road and walk "Am Kleisinger" up the small hill. Then turn left into Neugasse and continue straight ahead to Weinstraße and you will come back to your starting point, the Platz der 100 Weine.

Getting there

From the north:

A6 motorway (Mannheim/Kaiserslautern, Grünstadt exit) towards Bad Dürkheim, on B271 (German Wine Route) via Herxheim am Berg to Kallstadt.

From the south:

Motorway A61 at the Ludwigshafen junction onto the A650 towards Bad Dürkheim. At the end of the extension, go straight on in the direction of Gewerbegebiet Trift/Grünstadt. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right towards Ungstein. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Ungstein/Grünstadt. After 50m, turn right towards Kallstadt (B271).

Parking

From the car park on the "Platz der 100 Weine" in the centre of the village between the church and the tourist information office (parking time limit with parking disc from 12 noon for 3h) or car park at the cemetery (at the level of the winegrowers' cooperative, turn from Weinstraße into Friedhofstraße, parking possible without time limit).
