An easy circular walk along the River Goyt and Peak Forest Canal it is all fairly flat and easy walking. (There is one short section of rough track that will give anyone with a pushchair a bit of a work out, At least it is downhill) for the most part is is on smooth tracks and canal paths. I would say 2/3 of this walk you are by water which is lovely.
I have included a few photo way marker points and info along the way to.
Starting from New Mills Central Station or New Mills Newtown Train Station is only a 10 mins walk to the start and half way around the walk you go right passed it so you could join it there.
Going through the lovely Torrs Riverside park otherwise known as the Park under the town as it is set in a gorge that dissects the town and is not really obvious if you drive through the town, only when you are down in the park can you see it. In the gorge is the remains of the towns old mills and an arcemedise screw that has been put in to harness the power of the river. You carry on down the Goyt and passed a farm that has lamas. Joining the peak forest canal and then re-joining the river Goyt and the riverside park back to the train station.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do on a nice sunny day
