Fjällräven Classic Germany: Kalzhofen – Immenstadt
Fjällräven
The viewpoints on the last stage of Fjällräven Classic are lined up like a string of pearls. From Kalzhofen, we hike over the low mountain ridge that borders the Konstanzer Valley to the north. Beautiful hiking trails lead us mostly along green pastures with grazing young cattle.
We pass fewer huts than on the second day, but even more beautiful views: Kalzhofner, Salmaser and Thaler Höhe, plus the Alpseeblick are on the way. The view extends over the Constance Valley to the Great Alpsee, to the opposite mountain ridge (which we crossed on the first stage!) and to the higher peaks of the Allgäu Alps.
Before the last stretch of the route, we come across the Siedelalpe, a serviced hut with a beautiful sun terrace directly on the trail. This is the last refreshment before the descent to the Alpsee. If you want, you can jump into the lake as the grand finale of Fjällräven Classic.

Turn-by-turn directions
The third stage of Fjällräven Classic starts in Kalzhofen. We first head north through the village, then we start the climb to the Kalzhofner Höhe. Via Obere Gsäng-Alpe we reach the ridge and finally the summit.
A short kilometer after the Kalzhofner Höhe we come to a crossroads. Here we follow the signs to the Salmaser Höhe and continue straight ahead. The path to the Salmaser Höhe is the last significant ascent of the route. At 1254 m we reach the highest point of the stage here.
After enjoying the view to the south at the summit cross, we continue along the ridge, mostly along meadows with young cattle. From here it is about 6.5 km to the managed Siedelalpe. We pass the Ochsenschache, the Thaler Höhe and the viewpoint Alpseeblick.
After a stop at the Siedelalpe, we continue straight ahead on the hiking trail. We stay on the asphalt road only for a short bit, we keep to the right behind a small hut and continue on the hiking trail across the cattle pasture.
Mostly through the shady forest we hike comfortably downhill to Zaumberg. In the village we first turn left, then right onto the road to the south. Before a solitary farm, a path branches off to the left, which takes us first across the field, then steeply through the forest down to the Alpsee.
We cross under the railroad tracks with a small tunnel, then we go left past the Hauser lido and always along the lakeshore to Bühl. On the lakeshore or in Bühl there are several opportunities to rest and refresh before returning to our starting point at the Kleiner Alpsee.
