Turn-by-turn directions
From the parking space for hikers, we walk northeast along a wide path between the main road and the lakeshore and turn right after a bridge in front of the sports field. The path takes us behind the children's playground and the camping site into open meadows. If you like, you can follow the promenade or keep to the right to cross over to the lake on a dead-end road. Follow the shore to the forest. After the woods, the footpath turns left and leads you back to the above-mentioned promenade at the edge of a meadow.
On the wide path, you now walk slightly uphill to the Seehaus restaurant and pass the high ropes course behind it. Behind the "Kletterwald" (climbing forest) go to the left, on a narrow road up to a hilltop and down in hairpin bends to the dam. Cross the dam and turn right down to the lake. Then follow the lakeside path for a long stretch, go straight on at the Buronstadel and pass the fishermen's hut, water-guard building and camping site. Then you cross some brooks and reach the south-western tip of the lake and the Wertach. At a signposted point, the hiking trail branches off from the road to the right to a footbridge crosses the Wertach and dives into the beautiful alluvial forest.
At the next junction, turn right, walk through a charming moorland landscape and come back into the alluvial forest behind the youth campsite. The last part of the circular hike follows a wide promenade back to the starting point.
