The Sustainable Rural Development Program - SRD from #GIZAlbania in collaboration with Albanian Goverment and local experts, presented a new hiking product in the southern region of the country, the Southern Coastal Trail, a hiking trail of 74 kilometers. The beauty of the mountains, historic villages, blue views, numerous olive groves, small beaches, canyons, shepherds, and all other elements combined with the rich cultural heritage and culinary tradition of the south.

Author’s recommendation

Wear long trausers because of vegetation there are thorn during the way, and drink lots of water. Also do this trail during normal temperatures and weather conditions. Not recommenaded during high summer season.

Public transport

Public-transport-friendly

There is also option for public transportation from to Dhermi, the first village to start this route. The transfers can be from Tirana (capital of Albania, or from the port of Vlora and Saranda)

By road

You can access Dhermi as the first village of this trail by car or through Vlora and Saranda bays. There is public transport available but a dedicated car is a much easier option.

Parking

There are private prakings either at the hotel or near by the area you will visit.
