Muikkupuro’s hut is located between two crystal-clear lakes that are connected with a stream running by the hut. Hossa’s typical sand moors and clear waters are combined at Muikkupuro and it’s easy to get there through the accessible route of Muikkupuro’s hut.
At Muikkupuro’s hut you get to admire the sand moors and clear waters typical to Hossa National Park. Between two crystal-clear lakes takes place an accessible hut, which has a stream flowing by it connecting the lakes.
Muikkupuro’s hut is an accessible half-hut with a fireplace in front. There’s also an inva outhouse (bring your own toilet paper). At the stream’s mouth on the Keski-Valkea’s side there’s a beach from which it’s easy to dip to swim. Anyhow, the beach isn’t accessible, but it has a small bank. Yet, it is possible to row to Muikkupuro from accessible reservable cottages Hirvastupa and Peurapirtti, that are located by the shore of Iso-Valkeainen.
It’s possible to drive on the route and to its starting point with an electric vehicle like an electric wheelchair or an electric scooter. Using the road at one’s own risk. While using a wheelchair manually in the terrain, attention should be paid to the front wheels’ sufficient height and width. An attachable head wheel can also be used.
When getting to the hut, the last 100m is profiled as a steep hill with the rising and landing angle varying between 14 to 21 %. A serpentine passage has been used to reduce the steepness. There is not significantly incline sideways. The path material is hardened stone ash. The route’s width is 1 to 1.5m. At the halfway of the route there are short, steep hills. Pavement is stone ash and the base is even.
The route touches on a mountain biking route for about 500m, so there may be mountain bikers on the route. There are benches for seating by the route (4pcs).

There aren’t parking squares at the parking area that would take people with physical disabilities into account. Leave enough space between cars, so that the physically disabled can lift their needed vehicle (rollator, wheelchair) out of the car. Also make sure there is a clear access to the ramps and to the start of the route, don’t leave your car, so that the access-free passage gets more difficult.
