This hike heads down into Bandama caldera, a verdant oasis of native Canarian flora, it's about 1,000 m (3,300 ft) wide and 200 m (700 ft) deep. On the floor of the crater you find the Ruins of the Van Damme buildings and vineyards, the remains of its wine press are still in the courtyard. The route then heads back up to follow a circular track around the more barren rim, before heading back to the village of Bandama. Opening hours are 8.00-17.00. Entry is free
