The Loimijoki paddling route is a diverse, intriguing experience. The route flows along narrow streams of headwater rivers in a wilderness atmosphere to idyllic, historical villages and the low-lying rural landscapes of the River Loimijoki region.
The Loimijoki paddling route is located in Southwest Häme and is approximately 80 km in length. The route’s altitude difference is 30 m. The headwaters of the River Loimijoki flow through the highland environment of Tammela which stands out as more rugged and forested than the surrounding region. The route starts from the Liesjärvi National Park and passes along the River Turpoonjoki and via Lake Kuivajärvi to Lake Pyhäjärvi in Tammela. The River Loimijoki originates from Lake Pyhäjärvi and flows through the municipalities of Forssa, Jokioinen, Ypäjä and Loimaa.

The route can be paddled in 2–5 days, and its level is easy/intermediate. The paddling route is easy to follow using the DigiTrail app.
The Loimijoki paddling route is well suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, although the open lakes are challenging in windy conditions. An experienced paddler can complete the route in two days, but if you wish to enjoy the landscapes and numerous services, it is recommendable to reserve up to five days for the journey. There are plenty of lifting and launching sites, allowing you to choose shorter sections to paddle. There are short carrying sections along the route at the Vistinkoski Rapids, the mill dam close to Kievarin Kirnu grill kitchen, Forssa Spinning Mill and the Vierämänkoski Rapids. In addition, the wire mill in Jokioinen has to be passed by walking a distance of approximately 400 metres.

From National Road 2, turn onto the Kansallispuistontie Road. Follow the road for a couple of kilometres (turn left at the T-intersection) to arrive at the Kopinlahti parking area. The canoe launch site is 100 metres from the parking area close to the info board on the shore of Lake Liesjärvi.
