From the little town Valda to the big peat bog going up through a unique environment and beautiful unforeseen landscapes.
This trail takes us from the little town Valda (Altavalle) to the typical hamlet Bornie to reach the peat bog of the lake Lago di Valda, part of the Riserva Provinciale Prati di Monte (Provincial Reserve Mountain Lawns), one of the most important and suggestive protected areas of the Rete di Riserve Alta Val di Cembra-Avisio (Reserves Network Alta Val di Cembra – Avisio).
Great merit environments are on this way: from the various and rich lawns around the hamlet Bornie to the sparse larch wood used as herding areas and source of resin, from the little water stretches to the high peat bogs.
Along the trail you should stop to watch the environments changing one after the other. At the base of the wide larch trees you can find on this way, a big wooden plug covers the hole where the resin is extracted to produce “largà”, used for its medical properties or to produce natural paints and varnishes.
Even if this trail is not technically difficult and has no dangerous stretches, we always and in any case suggest to follow the general rules on safety for mountain hikes.
