Circuit of 6 villages starting and ending at St Cyr's Stonehouse Parish Church beside the Thames & Severn Canal. A good exercise ride with 3 short climbs that can be completed in under an hour, with fine views from Selsley over Stroud valleys and some pretty canal scenery near Stonehouse.

From the church, return to the main A419 road and cross it at the pelican crossing. The path ahead is a link to Stonehouse High Street (should you need any supplies). The route is Left onto the cycle path. Follow this until you come to Oldends Lane at a roundabout. Cross Oldends Lane then re-cross the main road via the island and continue to follow the cycle path on the other side. This soon runs alongside the canal until you meet the 'B' road (1) to the villages. Turn L and ride the short pull up to Eastington. Go L at the roundabaout in the middle of Eastington (2). Cycle approx 1 mile to Frocester. Turn Left at the Frocester crossroads near the pub (3). Stay on this road through Leonard Stanley and on to King's Stanley. At a mini-roundabout in King's Stanley, turn R then L (dog-leg) onto a back lane between some houses. Where this back lane meets the main road turn R. Stay on this road through Middleyard (short climb) then Selsley (short but steeper climb), past Selsley Church, then descend until you meet the main road coming down from Selsley Common (6). CAUTION: Dangerous T-juction - keep brakes applied on this descent (potholes can also be a hazard). Turn L at the junction. Near the bottom of the hill, just before the roundabout, with Sainsbury's supermarket in view on the other side, leave the main road at the access to the cycle path on the left (7). Turn R onto the cycle path which follows the A419 West (Ebley Bypass) back to Stonehouse. This very busy road must be crossed via a pelican crossing shortly after joining the cycle path. After about a mile on the path, just past the traffic traffic lights at Ryeford junction, stay on the path as it turns R up a tarmac slope (8). Ahead, turn L on the near side of the canal bridge and join the towpath. Ride the towpath under several bridges - some modern, some historic - until you see St Cyr's Church in its scenic setting on the opposite side. Cross the canal at the new swing bridge (9) then keep straight on to return to the main road close to where the route started. Turn R onto the cycle/footpath, then L to the church if that's where you left the car.
