This ride from Llandovery is relatively easy for this area, with two gentle climbs, the first of which follows the scenic valley of the River Tywi for some 8 miles. Outlying sheep farms surrounded by well-maintained hedgerows alternate with forestry plantations along the route. The road through Talley can be relatively busy but it has the advantage of taking you past a good pub at Talley (which also does teas) and the ruins of the abbey. Not least it avoids a 700ft (215m) climb.

Llandovery is one of several small, attractive towns in mid-Wales that serve as good bases for cycling tours of the area. This ride is relatively easy for this area with two gentle climbs, the first of which follows the scenic valley of the River Tywi for some 8 miles. The second ascent of the ride starts east of Llangadog and climbs through woodland before a fast descent back into the Tywi valley near to Llandovery.
