Easy and free steetparking in Harrogate around Claro Road, Devonshire place or anywhere else near the Harrogate Stray.

Total of 822m of elevation, the hills however are not too long but enough to be challenging. Quite a steep decline into Summerbridge so you will need to be fairly confident and with decent brakes.
Theres a little pond at Brimham Rocks i like to stop at for a break and something to eat, with a second stop at Fewston carpark on one of the picnic benches, surrounded by forest. Although the more sporty lot will probably easily do this route without stopping and in half the time.
The return from Fewston via Pennypot Lane is a straight 10 miles dash, pretty empty road like most of the route and the fasted part of the cycle. You could miss this out and add a few miles by going from Fewston to Norwood and then on to Beckwithshaw if you wish, I like both options.
This is one of my favourite local road cycle routes I do
