This is a circular ride from the Wick War Road car park, Chipping Sodbury. The first part of the ride crosses over Chipping Sodbury common before climbing up a steep hill that goes through the village of Horton. The hill is typical of this part of the Cotswold in that it has a false top. However, once at the top the remainder of the ride is relatively flat. On reaching the Cotswold village of Hawkesbury Upton the ride takes you through open Cotswold landscapes, passing through several villages on the way.
At the 15 mile distance, its worth stopping at the Cat and Custard Pot pub in the village of Shipton Moyne for coffee, or may be something stronger. After Shipton Moyne, the route goes through Eastern Gray, Norton and onto Hallavington (21 miles). From here the route turns back towards Chipping Sodbury, passing through Gritelton before passing over the M4 Motorway (25 miles).
From here the route roughly parallels the M4 Motorway, but remains well removed, using country lanes or quite roads back to Chipping Sodbury (40 miles)
