This unique cycle tour takes us through the Danube Gorge, characterised by white rock cliffs, which combines the impressions of weathered Weissjura walls, forested hills and the gently meandering river. A natural relief that has earned the magnificent route the nickname "Swabian Grand Canyon".

The starting point of our tour is the railway station in Tuttlingen, from where we travel in a slightly north-easterly direction through the town. We head straight for the open-air museum Neuhausen ob Eck (1), where we can gain an interesting insight into the rural life of days gone by if we are interested. Here, in quick succession, we turn first left, then right and cross the Danube on a narrow bridge. On the other bank, we turn right along the river, which leads out of the town in a long curve. With a view of the Wasserburg ruins, we head north and then from the bank to the railway line, which takes us along the meandering Danube past Ludwigsthal and Nendigen into the lush green Kreuzwiesen meadows. The idyllic picture accompanies us to Stetten and Mühlheim, where we trade the river for a while for handsome rows of houses. Before leaving the village, we see the imposing Galluskirche (2), whose remarkable south side of limestone and tuff remains in our memory as we approach the Danube again. With wooded hills on our left and the river including the beautiful wet meadows on our right, we follow the river bends in an easterly direction. We then pass between Kirchberg and Welschenberg and enter the time-honoured town of Fridingen. There, towering over the surrounding countryside, the ruins of Kallenberg, which owe their name to the noble family of the same name, await us. We continue along the river bank and follow the cycle path to the left, where we reach a seepage point of the Danube. There we change to the opposite bank, where the path climbs slightly past the Ziegelhütte to the Steuerlehof farm. The Danube valley narrows considerably here and offers us a unique backdrop on the way north. Along the meandering river we come to the tranquil town of Beuron. Two narrow river bends later, we have reached Oberhausen. The valley opens up visibly as we pass the St. Maurus Chapel (3) and return to Grüne. A few pedals later we reach Beuron, which is announced to us by the Danube bridge (4). Further on, tree-rich slopes and occasional towering rocky cliffs await us, characterising the section to Inzigkofen. There, the trail passes the Amalienfelsen (Amalia Rocks) and follows the Danube into the town of Sigmaringen. We finally leave the river at the level of the railway bridge and cover the last metres to the railway station, the destination of our tour. From there we can return to the starting point of our tour by train.
