Local cycle route - stage Nahequelle - Birkenfeld - Idar-Oberstein

Start of the tour at the Nahe spring in Selbach. The tour takes you along the Bostalsee lake via Nohfelden - here it is worth making a detour to the castle - to the Saarland / Rhineland-Palatinate state border.   Passing the environmental campus in Hoppstädten-Weiersbach, the journey continues to Birkenfeld. If you prefer a more leisurely drive, you can stay overnight here. A visit to the Birkenfeld State Museum is recommended. The route continues (the next day) through hilly terrain via Kronweiler to the banks of the Nahe and finally further along above the Nahe. Worth seeing is the Frauenburg, where Countess Loretta once lived. Now it is only a few kilometres to Idar-Oberstein.
