easy
Distance 20.2 km
Here you can see a stunning part of the Moselle river without much effort. Apart from a single ascent, the tour runs flat along the Moselle. The ferry crossing from Enkirch to Kövenig is a special highlight.
Author’s recommendation
In hot weather, it's worth taking a detour to the water tread basin in Burg/ Mosel.
In Enkirch you can cover the "Gässchenrundweg" (circular route of the alleyways) and explore the old half-timbered village on your own.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the tourist information centre you can take a leisurely ride along the water to Kövenig. Taking a short break to see the harbour will be worth your while. From Kövenig you continue on the K65 to Reil. Here you can take a break and enjoy the view of the Moselle. You then you change to the other side of the Moselle and continue in the opposite direction towards the village of Burg/ Mosel. You cycle into the village, where you will find many restaurants where you can stop off for a refreshment. In good weather you simply have to pay a visit to the water tread basin surrounded by vineyards. Now you need a bit of stamina: from the centre of the village you continue uphill until you reach Enkircher Straße. You follow the road all the way to Enkirch. There is plenty to discover in this old village with half-timbered houses, and it's best to do it along the circular route of the alleyways (Gässchenrundweg). Here you can find many inviting wine taverns and restaurants.
You can enjoy a very different view of the Moselle when you take the passenger ferry to Kövenig. From there you go back along the cycle path to Traben-Trarbach. You can take a break by the Staufstufe and enjoy the views afforded by the viewing platform.
