In the Hanseatic city of Demmin, the journey through the most recent geological history begins. The cyclists ride along the many loops of the river Tollense to Klempenow, past meadows, fields and forests. In the town Klempenow the climb to the tower of the Old Castle, which offers a fascinating view over the Tollense Valley, is worthwhile. The rest of the route is characterised by a varied landscape. Impressive hills and mountains alternate with simple valleys and wide plains, offering beautiful views in many places.
The Schwichtenberg boulder garden is home to enormous treasures from the Ice Age. The trail leads through the Brohm and Helpter mountains to the windmill town of Woldegk. After a short break, cyclists dive into the Feldberg Lakeland Nature Park. The lakes are crystal clear and deep, the forests are pristine and mysterious, the valleys and hills lush green and devout. Germany's oldest beech trees rise imposingly and endlessly into the blue sky in the "holy halls" in the town Serrahn and provide cooling shade. From Feldberg, the trail leads through deep deciduous forests to Fürstenberg/Havel in the state of Brandenburg. The many lakes invite you to take a refreshing dip.
The picturesque landscape rich in forests and lakes with its diverse flora and fauna also fascinates cyclists on their way through the Mecklenburg Lake District (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte). On the Damerower Werder peninsula, adventurers can observe prehistoric giants, a herd of shaggy bisons. The journey continues in the direction of Mecklenburg Switzerland to Lake Kummerower See - the fourth largest in the country. In the surrounding villages, you will find many beautiful manor houses and magnificent castles. Along the river Peene, the last kilometres lead back to Demmin.
