The Diemtigtal valley beckons with an intact and charming landscape and a traditional settlement structure featuring a wealth of carefully preserved and vibrant architecture. Thanks to its scenic beauty and well-maintained building heritage, an abundance of natural assets and extensive biodiversity, the Diemtigtal valley carries the 'Regional Nature Park – Landscape of National Distinction' label. Magnificent wooden chalets from the 18th and 19th centuries characterize the Diemtigtal valley.
This traditional construction method is still used today. The municipality of Diemtigen has succeeded in preserving the settlement character of the valley in an exemplary manner. Turn-by-turn directions
From Oey-Diemtigen railway station, follow the valley road to the Katzenloch bridge and turn right in the direction of Diemtigen. After a few kilometres you reach the village of Diemtigen with its magnificent houses and church. The ride continues back to the valley road, which takes you along the Fildrich to Schwenden.
A short detour on the Grimmialp to the Blauseeli is worthwhile: the small lake with an underground tributary has a calming and soothing effect and invites you to take a short break.
Back on the valley road in the direction of Oey, after a good kilometre after the former Tiermatti inn, you turn off onto a side road that takes you to the former farms of Entschwil, Horboden and Bächlen. The last easy descent takes you back to Oey-Diemtigen railway station.

Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluhtunnel turn left direction Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtalstrasse into the valley for 4 km to the village of Oey.Parking
