Vilnius is the current capital of Lithuania. But in former times it was the island castle Trakai and in the meantime also the city Kaunas, where the tour ends.
After an extensive visit of all churches and sights, we will go to Trakai Manor Vokė. Never heard of? But you have seen it often. It served as a film location for movies like "Anna Karenina" and "War and Peace".
We continue to the island castle Trakai. It was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the beginning of the 14th century.
The tour continues via the spa town of Birštonas and the Pažaislis Monastery to Kaunas. After that the route leads along the Memel to Šilutė (German Heydekrug).
