It is a rather curious sight: His Holyness the Dalai Lama and his entourage surrounded by the folklore of Carinthia. Lederhosen meet red-orange monk robes, marching bands music next to Asian sounds and the Austrian joie de vivre is confronted with Tibetan sobriety. All of this does not really seem to belong together. Yet the little village and the Dalai Lama share a long-lasting friendship. But why?
