Exmoor national park
Exmoor National Park, named after the river Exe, is a national park in the counties of Devon and Somerset. The rugged coastline is interspersed with wooded valleys and gives plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling adventures. Since 1954, the authorities protect the unique, biodiverse habitat stretching over 693 square kilometres. In autumn 2011, it was recognised as an International Dark Sky Park, and since then it has also been known as Exmoor International Dark Sky Reserve.
