Pignia village is characterized by beautiful old farmhouses with sgraffiti and aphorisms. In Pignia Bad only the name testifies to the existence of the ferruginous medicinal springs.
The ferruginous spring in the spa was used until 1893 (a pipeline built in 1829 also supplied spa facilities in Andeer). The spa benefited from its location on the 1818-23 new road to the Splügen and San Bernardino passes.
A detour to the Maybear village Bavugls, situated above Pignia at approx. 2,000 m above sea level, which has retained its original character to this day, is crowned by the unique panoramic view. Also worth seeing is the village church of Pignia with its painted organ.
