Andeer is the largest municipality in the Val Schons. The town has become famous for its medicinal springs, the Andeer spa' and the unique green Andeer granite.
From afar you’ll be able to see the mineral bath and the Hotel Fravi. The spring, which rises at Pignia Bad, was bought in 1827 by Mrs. Landmann Julia Fravi for 1,200 guilders. The water led to a small bathhouse in Andeer. This laid the foundation for the Andeer spa. Bathe in the warm 34-degree water of the mineral bath!
The historic houses along the Veia Granda, Andeer's main street, are particularly striking. The sgraffito house or the Padrun house, as it is also called, stands out for its carpet-like wall decorations from the 16th century. You can find out a lot about the history of Alpine transit, which has shaped Andeer and the entire Viamala region, and still does today, at CasaStorica.
The Andeer granite from the two quarries in the village has been mined, processed and exported all over the world for 100 years. Today, in addition to granite, cheese is also sold in all directions. Because granithart are the other ones when it comes to nature conservation. Stizun da Latg only processes organic milk, preferably from cows with horns. The organic cheese products from the Andeer alpine dairy have won several awards and are considered to be top international products.
