General Sherman Tree
This Giant Sequoia is even the largest living thing in volume with a height of over 83 m and a diameter of up to 11 m. Only in height does it have to admit defeat: There is a 115.55 m high tree in the Redwood National Park. It is assumed that the General Sherman Tree is between 1900 and 2500 years old and weighs 1385 tons.
Named after Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman, the General Sherman Tree can be reached on various routes. Several trails lead to the General Sherman Tree, including the official General Sherman Trail.
There is a parking space right next to the tree just off Generals Highway for everyone with special needs.
