Congress Group
The "inhabitants" of the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park are definitely worth a visit. The most famous of the numerous giant sequoias is the "General Sherman Tree," with a height of over 83 m and a diameter of over 11 m.
Also worth seeing - and to be visited along the so-called "Congress Trail" - are the two groups of trees, "The House" and "The Senate," named after the two parts of the US Congress. Their name probably derived from them standing so close together. The trees look as if they had gathered for deliberation.
