The „Lower Drilling House“ salt works museum in Rottweil is the only museum on the upper Neckar documenting salt extraction in the region from the Middle Ages to today.
Original buildings show and explain the drilling process, conveyance using a water wheel, and the entire simmering process at the Wilhelmshall- Rottweil Salt Works, founded in 1824 and decommissioned in 1969.
