Norwegian Fishing Village Museum (Norsk Fiskeværsmuseum) is a picturesque place with the main focus on history of life in the Lofoten fishing village. Museum with 150-year-old architecture consists of four buildings that present different exhibitions and guided tours.
People of all ages can find something interesting and fun here! Exhibits contain working forge, old stone oven bakery from 1844, typical fisherman home, post office of steam ships expedition, traditional wooden boats and tackle. Even the fisherman's cabin is available for excursions!
In the museum there is an old grocery shop where you can find local food, textiles, literature, clothing, fishing equipment and a basic selection of groceries. The bakery here also works regularly and bake delicious bread and cinnamon buns. In souvenir shop you can buy locally made crafts, souvenirs, books, maps and cod liver oil that is produced right at the museum.
