The Erbeskopfturm stands in the southwest of the Idarwald on the lying in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and the National Park Hunsrück-Hochwald.
The Erbeskopfturm is an 11 m high lookout tower on the Erbeskopf, the highest mountain in the Hunsrück, in the district of Bernkastel- Wittlich and in Rhineland-Palatinate and the highest German left bank elevation. The tower is located in the middle of the nature park Saar-Hunsrück and the national park Hunsrück-Hochwald. The Erbeskopfturm stands in the southwest of the Idarwald on the lying in the Saar-Hunsrück nature park Erbeskopf, about 150 m southwest of the mountain summit. It is located in the area of about 6 km west in the district Bernkastel-Wittlich local community Hilscheid. The view from the Erbeskopfturm includes the summit area with the 2011 installed there sculptures Windklang and summit heads of the region. The distance view is restricted by trees. In clear weather distant views to the north to parts of the Eifel are possible.
