Boskovice Castle
A romantic ruin of a Gothic-Renaissance castle rises directly above the town and the area of Boskovice Castle.
The history of the castle began in the mid-13th century. At that time it belonged to the family of the Lords of Boskovice, who owned the castle and the estate until the end of the 14th century. Furthermore, the castle was in possession of several genera - including the Lords of Kunštát or Dietrichstein. However, in the 18th century the seat was gradually abandoned, the roofs were torn down and the masonry was dismantled for the construction of buildings in the city.
Currently, the castle is owned by the Mensdorff-Pouilly family. From the originally massive building, a torso of the castle palace has been preserved, offering an impressive view of the picturesque landscape. A technical attraction is the 26-meter deep well with wooden pedal wheel, the only functional in the country.
