The Gangkhar Puensum is the highest mountain in Bhutan with an altituge of 7,540 m.
It is the world's highest unclimbed mountain because it is forbidden to climb it. In Buddhism, the peaks of most of the high mountains in the Himalayas are the seat of the gods and are therefore sacred. The Gangkhar Puensum is Bhutan's holiest mountain.
