A long and relatively easy walk following The Cowal Way from Strachur over to Glendaruel. After Garvie Farm the difficulty increases; we leave the Cowal Way and embark on a steep hike followed by a treacherous gorge walk. There follows a hike over rough ground to reach Garbhallt Lochain, before finding the forestry track that leads down to the roadside at Garbhallt. From here it's a short walk on a quiet road to reach Kilmorie.

The start of this walk is a bit of a scramble down muddy trails from Fearnoch to the old road, but after that it follows roadways and forestry tracks. There are some steep hills and these reward you with fantastic views over Glendaruel and off towards the Kintyre Peninsula.

Faith in Cowal: Strachur - Lochgoilhead
Difficulty
difficult

A fairly strenuous hike over the hillsides with little in the way of paths for most of the route, and much of that without even any waymarkers. Must have a good sense of direction and be wiling to improvise.
