Viikari canoeing trips

Canoeing route from Anjala to Ahvio. The length of this route is around 17 kilometres taking about 4.5 hours, of which 3.5 hours is spent on the river. There are two class I rapids along the route to speed up the progress. Price of the trip €65/person

Canoeing route from Ahvio to the Hirvivuolle dam. The length of this route is around 12 kilometres taking about 3.5 hours, of which 2.5 hours is spent on the river. The route runs along the so-called Piuhanhaara branch from the village of Ahvio to Hirvivuolle in Pyhtää.  The route includes several points with currents, smooth water, and beautiful scenery. Price of the trip €45/person

Combination of the above canoeing routes, in which case it measures 29 kilometres. The duration of the package is about 7 to 7.5 hours, of which 6 hours is spent on the river. In addition to the rapids areas mentioned above, this route includes the class II Ahvionkoski rapids. Price of the trip €85/person

Programme description

The programme starts with a gathering and welcome coffee served at restaurant Bar’kki (Elimäentie 54, 46910 Anjala). After distribution of the equipment, there is joint transportation to the starting point of the trip, either Anjala or Ahvio, where the guide will go over the safety instructions and teach you how to handle the canoe. Then it is time to start the trip on the interesting Kymijoki River canoeing route. At the end, there is joint transportation back to restaurant Bar’kki.
