The Alpine Cheese Trail passes by seven cheese dairies around Engelberg. This varied hiking route offers beautiful mountain views and tempting treats for cheese connoisseurs.

Dallenwil – Wiesenberg – Ächerlipass – Wirzweli - Dallenwil

The historic Sbrinz Route leads from Lucerne via Engelberg to Domodossola. This is where the popular Sbrinz cheese used to be brought and exchanged for olive oil, red wine and other Italian goods. Smuggler Engelbert and his mule Schmuggli try to solve six tricky riddles between Lake Trübsee and the alp Untertrübsee and remain undetected by customs officers and witches. Follow them, solve the tasks and try to find the right solution word. You can win attractive prizes.  

Short, easy to walk, varied, and with plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat – the Alpine Cheese Trail section to Untertrübsee/Gerschnialp is great for families with children.

This demanding multi-day hike is 12.5 hours (pure walking time) in length and takes place off the beaten track.

On the mountain flower path Trübsee you walk from the middle station Trübsee comfortably along the lake to Obertrübsee.
