Museums in Styria

The mighty three-story Renaissance castle of Gleinstätten dates back to the 16th/17th century. Around the castle, with the castle park and castle meadow, an adventure park of a special kind was built. Thus, throughout the area you will encounter impressive works of art and installations that merge with nature.

In a farmhouse, toys from bygone days tell stories and invite you to remember, to be astonished, or simply to enjoy a few pleasurable minutes.

Vulcano zeichnet sich aus durch schmackhafte Führungen durch die Schinkenwelt: Rohschinken (8, 15, 27 & 36 Monate gereift), Speckzwetschken, -wallnüsse, -datteln- und Speckkäse. 

Das Heimat.Museum im Tabor ist ein Erlebnisreich für Führungen in alterwürdiger Schutzburg, eine Erkundungstour treppauf, treppab und ein Lernort für die ganze Familie.

Professor Gustinius Ambrosi war berühmt für seine Plastiken und seine Gedichte. Einen Teil seines Lebens verbrauchte der Künstler auch in Stallhofen. Hier ist auch das Ambrosi-Museum zu besichtigen.

Das Geburtshaus am Alpl bringt Interessierten die Jugendzeit Peter Roseggers näher.

Hartlieb Oil Mill and Pumpkin Seed Oil Museum give visitors insights into the early days of pumpkin seed oil production as well as modern-day manufacturing. The Museum on the ground floor of the mill provides an exhibition on oil production, the necessary basic materials, the handling of old equipment, as well as customs and traditions dating back to the year dot. Follow the oil pressing process at the workshop and enjoy the wonderful aroma of pumpkin seed oil.
