Encircling the remote Usk Reservoir, Glasfynydd Forest has an excellent 6-mile family mountain bike route. The route follows clear waymarks along broad forest tracks with plenty of short climbs and descents to challenge riders.

the Swiss Valley Trail from Llanelli to Tumble climbs up from Sandy Water Park into the rolling hills above the town, passing high above the Lliedi Reservoirs. Beyond its northern end National Cycle Network Route 47 uses quiet lanes to reach the National Botanic Garden of Wales at Middleton Hall.
