Long-distance hikes in the Région Wallonne

On the Luxembourg stage of the European Long Distance Trail E3, you hike from Perl/Schengen via Remichen, Grevenmacher, Echternach, Vianden, Clervaux and Wiltz to Esch-sur-Sûre and along the Sûre to Martelange on the Belgian border.

The Eifelsteig, designed according to the quality criteria of the German Hiking Seal, takes us from Aachen to Trier. Along the way, we cross the Eifel along beautiful and scenic paths.

Lose yourself in the vastness of the Hohes Venn nature park and enjoy the absolute calm and stillness of these moors. The hedges lining the trail are covered with moss and lichens, the birch trees sway gently in the breeze and the narrow wooden walkways of the Eifelsteig wend their way towards the Belgian border. You can expect amazing views during the next few kilometres of your hike. When you get to the end of the stage in Monschau, it is worth stopping to visit the Roman glassworks, the 'Rotes Haus' museum and the historical mustard mill.

The 2150 kilometre GR 5 connects the North Sea from Rotterdam to Nice and the Mediterranean via Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. It is part of the European E2 Trail. The hike on the GR 5 leads mainly into the Grande Traversée des Vosges, the Jura and the Alps.

Hikers experience the brittle charm of the Hohes Venn on this second stage of the Eifelsteig from Roetgen to Monschau. Mosses, lichens and overgrown hedges line the path.

The Memorial Loop is a 96-km hiking loop that was opened in 2015. It passes many important battlefield and points of historical interest along the German-Belgian border, and joins up with other hiking trails in the municipalities of Büllingen, Bütgenbach und Waimes on the Belgian side of the border and Hellenthal and Monschau on the German side.

This stage is the perfect hike for those who love the woods. You can experience the fact that the wood is much more than just a collection of trees here in an interesting and varied way.

The tour leads through Wallonia in Belgium to the „Big East“ of France along the Semois river, through deep valleys and scenic mountains.

We follow the Hill through the woods of Hertogenwald, over the plateau of the High Fens to the highest point in the country.

Two streams have their origin in the municipality of Büllingen: the Warche and the Our. Impressively, the GR trail from Büllingen to Schönberg forms a connection between them.
