Long-distance hikes in Austria

Around 7 kilometers distance between Maria Laach (Jauerling plateau) with its meadows and via estate „Schleinkhof“ down to Aggsbach Markt at the Danube for this stage.  

On your walking tour from Dürnstein to Weißenkirchen almost 17 kilometers long you probably find the most popular ruin in Austria. Also including a wonderful rock and forest landscape around Dürnstein and great views as well as the famous wine terraces with vineyards named „Klaus“ and „Achleiten“.

The Jauerling plateau its villages, belltowers, panoramic views and the secluded small castle like church to Gossam are parts of this diverting hiking tour on the Wachau World Heritage Trail from Aggsbach Markt to Emmersdorf. 

Three daily stages of the Via Alpina (long-distance hiking trail) - the purple trail - lead directly along the foot of the impressive Hochkönig.

The Donausteig-Simply amazing! At this stage we walk from the forested Niederranna Donauengtal (valley) over the rural Mühlviertler high plateau to the center of the deeply buried Schlögener Donauschlinge and then along the meandering River Danube to Obermühl. Along the walk we discover the importance of fisheries during the Middle Ages, the transformation of feudal knights to robber barons , the magnificent natural wonders of the Schlögener Schlinge, and the strange world of the Danube as a waterway...

STAGE 4:   LÄNGENFELD –> Brand –> Suspension bridge –> Burgstein –> Jagdhütte –> Winkle –> Aschbach –> Höfle –> SÖLDEN

This tour is a multiple day hike through the Schladminger Tauern mountain range. and partially part of Central Alpine Trail 02, which traverses the entire Alpine region.

From the Dachstein Südwandhütte via the glacier to the Guttenberghaus.
