The Verzasca Valley is certainly one of the most famous valleys in Ticino. It stretches for 25 km from Gordola to Sonogno. The emerald-green river with its finely polished stones, the 220-metre-high dam at the entrance to the valley and the arched bridge in Lavertezzo are probably the most striking features.
Despite the many attractions that attract many guests, especially in summer, it is a very idyllic, traditional and scenic valley. Over 350 km of official hiking trails lead to remote mountain huts, panoramic peaks, mountain lakes and beautiful bathing spots. What makes hiking here even more interesting is that both families and alpinists will find the right tour to enjoy unforgettable moments in nature.
Many plant and animal species characterise the valley and change its colour depending on the season. The Verzasca Valley is a very wild and steep valley. If you leave the river and venture into the heights, the beautiful view is usually earned with a lot of sweat. But it is worth it!
