Discovering biodiversity
The Locarno region is rich in history, culture and traditions. It is a place where the hand of man has been able to diligently shape the territory, while respecting the rhythms of nature and thus building a profound relationship of mutual benefit. The significant agricultural and pastoral activities that have developed over the last centuries have allowed both man to settle permanently and various animal and plant species to find an ideal habitat, gradually creating small natural ecosystems.
Many of these sites are now protected at national or cantonal level due to their importance or fragility but are often still unknown to the general public.
Based on the hiking guide "Alla scoperta della biodiversità" (discovering biodiversity), compiled with care and professionalism by experts, a series of tours is proposed to enhance these areas of particular interest for their fauna and flora.
