Troubleshooting the compass
Android
Some Android devices do not support the compass function because they do not have a compass sensor installed. Either check the device specifications of your smartphone or you will get an error message when using the "Skyline" feature.
If your device has the compass function, but the compass still doesn't work properly, a calibration usually helps. You can do this via third party apps, like the app "GPS Status & Toolbox" or Google Maps. Another possibility is to calibrate the compass using the factory settings.
iOS
For the compass to work properly, the background app refresh must be enabled. To check on iPhone/iPad under: "Settings" → "General" → "Background app refresh".
In addition, the location services must be active for the compass calibration: "Settings" → "Privacy" → " Location Services" → in the app, "When using" must be selected.
Good to know
The magnetic closure of a flip case can also cause problems with the compass.
This is especially bad with phone cases that have a magnet on the long side, for example, iPhone X cases. However, with this device, the compass calibration runs automatically in the background. If the device is taken out of the case, the compass is calibrated automatically.
