The webcam map layer
The webcam map layer gives you up-to-date insight into the conditions on the ground. The live view of weather or snow conditions can help you with concrete route planning or just give you inspiration. The webcams are especially helpful for routes, excursion destinations, and ski resorts.
Discover webcams locally and around the world
You can find the webcam layer in all map views on our platform: in both the Route Finder and Route Planner, on the main map and on the detailed map view for each content page. To locate the layer, select the map layer icon in the lower right corner of the map and go to "Additional layers".
We currently offer more than 50,000 webcams on the platform. Just move the map to your desired destination and zoom in to see all the available webcams. Click on the webcam icon to open an info box about each webcam. Clicking further will take you to the webcam's detail page, which will show you the exact coordinates of its position as well as other features and the local weather. You can also bookmark the webcam on your lists or on "My Map" to find it again quickly.
How Up-to-date are the webcams?
Depending on the timeliness of the data sent, the webcam icons in the map view are displayed using the following colors.
- Green: webcams showing data no more than 2 hours old.
- Yellow: webcams showing data between 2 and 6 hours old.
- Grey: webcams showing data older than 6 hours.
Webcams along routes and at mountain huts and ski resorts
You can find the webcams for a route, a mountain hut, or a skiing area directly under the tab
"Current Info".

Good to know
When selecting larger map sections, the layer will not display all webcams in that area. We make sure all the webcams are spread evenly over the map. To see more or all webcams in an area, simply zoom deeper into the map.
