Topographic maps

Topographic maps are provided by the official surveying authorities. Due to how precise the mapping of landforms is (e.g. by contour lines, shading, and specific symbols), topographic maps provide a particularly realistic picture of the terrain.

The Outdooractive Map

The Outdooractive map is based on official geodata. We offer a defined and prepared route network for many activities as well as relevant tourist information from our partners delivering reliable route planning.

Outdoor sports trail networks

Our digital trail networks provide you with an accurate virtual overview of the official trails that have been marked out for your sport. Take advantage of viewing their layout and calculate the route that suits you best.

How to share your location using BuddyBeacon

Let your family and friends know where you are and allow them to follow your adventures in real time. In case of an emergency, BuddyBeacon can be used to find your exact location quickly.

Notices and Closures

The Notices and Closures feature informs you of the conditions of trails as well as some dangers. We also provide information on routes and areas that have been closed. This data is constantly updated, making you aware of the most current information available before heading out.

Saving routes and maps offline

Having signal coverage and internet connection in remote areas is never a sure thing. It is usually in these remote places that we have the greatest need to check our location. This problem is solved with the offline maps feature on our app.

what3words

what3words is a really simple way to communicate location. Every 3m square in the world has been given a unique 3 word address that will never change. The order and composition of the words is unique, easy to read, share and use.

Slope angles

Slope angles play a key role when planning your alpine or winter activities. The steeper the terrain, the greater the risk of an accident or an avalanche.  We aim to help you assess the risk by providing colour coded slope angles on some of our maps for Western Europe.

The Avalanche Report

Winter tours require a special kind of preparation. In order to make your trips safe, you need to be well-informed about the weather and snow conditions.
