There could not be a more beautiful location for a mountain refuge hut: with fabulous views and abundant sunshine. The Bayreuther Hut could also be described as an alpine hub. A “lofty” meeting point of the Inntal, Alpbachtal and Zillertal Valleys. Originally built by the mountain-loving Lentsch Family from Hall in Tirol as a “private Rofan Hut” in 1908, it was acquired by the German Alpine Club, Section Bayreuth in 1926. Committed mountain hut proprietors have ensured that this popular and family friendly hiker’s overnight accommodation has been kept in great condition and have extended it over the years. After a tour through the beautiful Rofan Mountains – for example, after a hike past the idyllic Lake Zireiner See – it is wonderful to sit on the sun terrace, savour the fabulous mountain views and replenish flagging energy levels with a great meal.
Well known surrounding mountains: Berger Kopf, Vorderes Sonnwendjoch, Sagzahn, Rofanspitze, Roßkogel, Heidachstellwand.

Mountain bikers are recommended to take the forestry road, starting from Münster, Grünsbach district. Visitors are treated to splendid vistas over valley and panorama views towards the main Alpine Range. The Bayreuther Hütte is ideal for mountaineering tours and is located on a stretched out saddle dotted with high pastures and framed by the western of the Sonnwendjoch.
