Picturesque mountain shelter Ratkovo sklonište is one of the most original mountaineering facilities in Croatia. This wooden house is located in a semi-cave below a vertical rock called Šerpas, which acts as a natural roof. Water is collected in a water cistern next to the shelter. The facility is managed by PDS Velebit from Zagreb, which named the shelter after one of its members – alpinist Ratko Čapek who perished in the Alps.
