Don't let this hike fool you! It's a steeeeep approach in a short distance but it takes you to truly special and beautiful alpine lake. Plan to sweat and get a killer workout AND some nice photos as well.
Minotaur Lake sits adjacent to and overlooks Theseus Lake while also delivering an awesome view of Labyrinth Mountain when not socked in with fog. It is a short but seriously steep hike to get there as you gain over 1,400 feet in the first mile on the trail! Keep your eyes on the switbacking trails for roots and rocks. This isn't a spot one wants to stumble. Continue on the switchbacks until you reach some really pretty meadows filled with wildflowers during Summer and huckleberry during Fall. Once you reach the little pond, know the end is near and breath a sigh of relief! There are numerous trails to explore at the lake--take your pick and enjoy a well-earned break!
