The road is closed to traffic. It has asphalted or steep paved stretches, with a dirt road for the final stretch. The road starts at the car park in the lower part of Trodena/Truden. Go past a limekiln with explanatory panels. Immediately after the bend, the road becomes paved with porphyry and follows a rather steep slope. After passing a third crucifix, the road becomes a dirt track and continues along the same level through a wood of Scots pine. Below the road, you can see a glacial depression with a small lake. After crossing a short stretch carved out of the dolomitic rocks, with a rather steep mountainside, the landscape opens out into the meadows before Malga Cislon/ Cisloner Alm.
Malga Cislon is accessible along a dirt road with low wooden steps. There are no steps at the entrance. The toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible.
