Hikes in Stratford-on-Avon

Today's walk has you crossing the Avon and Stour Rivers before walking through countryside with high hedgerows and through villages with quaint cottages and ancient churches.

Follow quiet country lanes, shady woodland trails and rolling fields on your way to the small, 8th century market town of Shipston-on-Stour.

Enjoy stunning views as you leave the River Stour behind and climb up from the valley towards Long Compton.

Follow the route through peaceful scenery and cross the border to Oxfordshire while enjoying views over Chipping Norton, the 'gateway into the Cotswolds'.

This is a very good walk in all seasons. We did it (again) in Nov 2021 when the autumn leaves had fallen. The many and various trees looked beautiful. Warwick district u3a

Great walk from Sunrising hill on A422 follow escarpment to Edgehill, footpath from Edgeill Eastbthen south on road at end to NT Upton house. Pass through car park around barns and then across field eventually to top of escarpment and return back past Sunrising House.

A linear walk following the River Avon from Stratford-upon-Avon to the picturesque Four Alls pub/restaurant in Welford-on-Avon village.

Great in early May for Bluebells. Climbing hill with spectacular views follow the escarpment by wood turn left and drop down to farm track and turn right to Long Compton. After passing church turn right on farm track climbing back up hill. Join woodland footpath for Bluebells down to Whichford.

A beautiful 7 mile circular pub walk between Henley in Arden and Lowsonford. Three pubs, two play areas, one ice cream shop, canal and plenty of wildlife.
