Hikes in Shropshire Council

Early July 2021 still in covid restricted activities, saw us walking from the centre of Ludlow, through the delightful streets and over the old bridges over the River Teme. Climbing steadily through mostly managed woodland with excellent views over the surrounding countryside and of course Ludlow.

A splendid walk in very quiet rural countryside. It features views over the Wyre Forest and Clee Hills and a short stretch of the River Rea.  This walk differs from our printed leaflet between point 2 & 5.

A circumnavigation of the quarry, giving superb wide views of the surrounding countryside. The Malvern Hills, Black Mountains, Cotswolds - the list goes on. Clee Hill has been quarried extensively and the predominant local landscape is of spoil heaps. Mostly now rewilding, but there is still activity in the quarry. A very quiet area though.

This walk goes east through glorious countryside from the small rural village of Neen Sollars. It is a walk of variety including spectacular views, hidden valleys and woodland.

  A walk to the south exploring the remote and spectacular countryside in the Valley of the River Rea on the way to the small village of Bayton.

The walk explores the small hamlet of Neen Savage with ancient church and picturesque ford before climbing to high ground at Dinmore with wonderful views over the Clee hills.

A wonderful walk with glorious rural scenery. Goes into little known countryside south from Hopton Wafers to explore the hamlet of Earls Ditton. This is the shorter version of our walk.

Half of this walk is on Catherton Common. It is a wonderful heather moorland with views of Clee Hill.  The rest of the walk is remote and attractive farmland.

A beautiful short stroll along the River Rea Valley to the Mawley Estate. A lovely stretch along the river, an optional loop through the Mawley Estate, then along a ridge with views.

This walk heads south west with views to the Malverns and Black Mountains, Then north to views east over the Wyre Forest & Severn Valley.
